Do you sit in the sun for a tan or go to a tanning booth?

Neither, I prefer to embrace my paleness. Both are horrible for your skin anyway.

Do you sit in the sun for a tan or go to a tanning booth?
sit in the sun
Reply:used to fake bake, but know i have kids and no time, so i do the real thing
Reply:sit in the sun
Reply:neather i love being white+pasty
Reply:'Sun"
Reply:I was born with mine. No skin cancer for me!
Reply:I work outside with my shirt off and get one.
Reply:I do not tan.

I burn,

I peel,

I fade,

then I burn again.
Reply:Unintentionally tan when working in the yard or going to a kid's game....

I don't purposely sun anymore-- don't want melanoma.... or wrinkles for that matter....
Reply:neither really.....not on purpose anyway
Reply:Neither. I like being pale.
Reply:The sun..I like the natural glow look better.Plus, sitting in the sun is a lot more healthier for your skin...=]
Reply:neither. I've seen skin cancer, it is horrid.
Reply:The Old Fashioned Natural Way~Sitting In The Sun
Reply:neither.. i don't believe in being tan
Reply:Both.
Reply:I don't tan. I prefer to be fair-skinned.
Reply:I sit in the sun...its better
Reply:Niether. Both burn me to a crisp and it hurts.
Reply:I don't do either. The sun makes me ill and I won't pay for a tan.
Reply:They say the sun is bad....they say tanning booths are bad...the sun is natural...booths are not....hmmmmmm....

Personally...I prefer the Sun, but have used both...
Reply:I go natural and use the sun for my tanning booth! Tanning booths remind me of coffins and I don't need to rush that feeling. lol
Reply:Tanning booth. I don't like sitting in the son. It gets hotter and takes longer. I don't have the time. I tan in a bed. It's the best wat to go for me. I don't live near no beach or anything like it.
Reply:neither, UV radiation gives people skin cancer %26amp; makes them wrinkly
Reply:neither....I not only burn easily but its horrible for your skin. You might not think about it now but when you're in your 40's you'll see what it has done to your face! Use a sunscreen!! I've seen the damage and thank goodness I have kept out of the sun =)
Reply:tanning booth....I'm fair skinned and only burn in the sun...but for some reason I can get a pretty good tan in a tanning bed
Reply:i own a tanning bed
Reply:Sun.......Natural Tanning is my choice
Reply:Neither, I don't try to intentionally tan. I don't want a bunch of wrinkles and leathery skin or look old from too much sun.
Reply:I have gone to a tanning bed probably 2 times in my intire life i like tanning in the sun better i get better tans in the sun i was in the sun for one day and iam preerty white but after that day everybody could tell i was darker

How long for indoor tanning results?

depends on which bed. on my first time i was tan 15mins after i left, tanner than ever had been before. but thats because i was in a 12mins MAX bed. and the fact i used bronzer. i dont recomend bronzer if you if you tend to turn orange or have a yellowish hue to naturl skin color.

How long for indoor tanning results?
Depends on the bed you choose. I go for 15mins. To get the best results I would go 2-3 times a week and use a good tanning lotion.
Reply:4 to 6 hours and after you tan don't take a shower for 6 hours........it ruins the dirty mexican look.

What is the best tanning lotion?

Are you talking about instant self tanners/bronzers? Or are you talking about sunblocks that are low levels and help you achieve the tan without burning?

And it depends on how dark, how fast you are trying to get...

What is the best tanning lotion?
If you're talking about indoor tanning I use Ambrosia products which are less expensive than others (even though they're still not cheap) and they have maximizers and bronzers and accelerators, a wide variety. They don't smell too bad either.
Reply:are you talking about sun block or those lotions that give you the actual tan?

i'm not sure about the sun block but for the other kind definatly go with "Jergens Natural Glow" i used that when i went to prom instead of fake baking and it worked really well.
Reply:baby oil....it works the best

night jasmine

Has anyone used self tanning lotions or spray and which ones are the best? They used to turn you orange?

Loreal Sublime Bronze gelee........it is the only kind I use!!!! It goes on soooo easy, no streaks, a nice smell, and gives a good tan.....it also makes your skin feel soooo smooth....I tried the Jergans stuff( slow tan) but that stuff stinks, I was having to put it on a couple hours before i took a bath.

Has anyone used self tanning lotions or spray and which ones are the best? They used to turn you orange?
Juergens new one is good
Reply:my friend used some but the lotion body glow is the best
Reply:i use whipped chocolate self-tanning mousse made by

skin drench.

i bought it at sally's beauty supply shop.
Reply:My wife uses the Jergens and she really likes it.
Reply:well i would go with using a lotion because it sinks into your skin, and it gives you a nice glow, however dont use an exsessive amount other wise you will turn orange, and after using it REMEMBER to wash your hands right away, cuz although your skin might be looking great everyone will be able to tell your using self tanner by your orange hands ha...but i hope this helps you decide:)
Reply:i have recently used the vaseline lotion medium tone. and it works really good. it is not drastic and it looks natural.
Reply:the chemical they used to use that turned your skin orange is no longer used. I just read it in a magazine. :%26gt;)
Reply:Jergens lotion works good, however there is a really inexpensive brand that really does the job... its called NoAd.
Reply:Don't use neutragena rub in self-tanner. It turns you orange and streaky.

Imo the tinted lotions work wonders because they make you look tan subtly.
Reply:I just started using the Jergens Natural Glow and I think it smells good. Maybe I am just weird like that. :) Makes your skin sparkle too!

Reply:umm i think its a big great yellow star that gives us light during the day...wats it called?? oh yea!!! the SUN!!!
Reply:i always play in the water in the beach. it tans me up really fast, i don't know bout you but it works to perfect tan everytime :) i don't know how, i just have fun! oh and put tanning oil :)

or just sit and tan your life away.
Reply:You could use a sunless tanner...just make sure to get a good one that will spread evenly and won't turn you orange. Or you can go get it done by a professional if you like.
Reply:olive oil
Reply:We go to the beach AND we DO use 45+ sun screen....fun in the sand and water while we are tanning. We still get tan, sometimes we are even pink when we leave but it turns to tan without the sunburn pain for us. We even have a small pop-up tent we sit under when we aren't in the water. I don't recommend the "lobster lay out" even with the sun screen on. The reflections of the sun on the water and sand really step up the tan/burn process, so you should be careful or, yes, you will look like leather if you get too much. One year we were able to go 4 or more times that summer and we got really brown the safer way. You can still get tan doing the pool or backyard process (boring unless you add activities) if you don't have a beach near you, although you don't get as much of the reflective benefits from the water or sand, it still works quite well, but as I stated above, do it carefully, not over doing it, using sun screen, etc. so you don't get leather and/or skin cancer later. Make sure to lotion up everyday to help keep your tan longer because dry skin makes it fade faster.
Reply:victoria's secret bronzing tanner stuff. I tried it and it works. just make sure you spread it evenly.

God bless!
Reply:dont even think about a tanning booth. it makes you look like you stole a cheetah's unspotted skin.

try some sunscreen and some sun in Hawaii.

GO ONLY IN THE WINTER. Summer Hawaii

has damp-y air. I couldnt breathe for 1 week there.

Can you lose sensation in your nipples from tanning in a tanning bed?

i have been tanning about 4 times a month for a year and my nipples have not lost any sensitivity.

Can you lose sensation in your nipples from tanning in a tanning bed?
no

Has anyone heard of tanning to cure back acne?

can someone explain to me how this would work?

Has anyone heard of tanning to cure back acne?
Because the UV rays dry up your skin (reduce the oils) the appearance of some pimples will lessen or they will go away. I think with a tan most skin just looks a little healthier, and it has been from my experience that skin clears up a bit after going tanning.
Reply:I'm not sure if it'll do anything positive for acne, but tanning skin actually damages the skin
Reply:um........no. try acne medicine
Reply:i assume it has something to do with the harmful rays that tanning uses- think of this- if it can kill achne, whatz it doing to your skin!?
Reply:because the UV rays kill the bacteria that causes acne
Reply:Sun tends to dry out the skin, so, some sun might be beneficial, to help acne, on the back. You should check with a Dermatologist, sun can cause more harm sometimes, than good.
Reply:Ultraviolet rays can diminish but not cure achene. Time and luck will do that. Antibiotics will help control it. See your Dr.
Reply:Tanning you skin, dries it out....

Also take into consideration that acne isn't gonna be as visible on tan skin as compaired to white skin.
Reply:There are some rays of the sun, some in the the ultra-violet range, that will benefit your back and help to dry up acne, but there are safer ways today. See a dermotologist so you won't scar. I have a client who scarred something awful using just the sun. A dermotologist or esthetician can suggest lamps, and creams and back facials(they really do work well) for you that will provide great results. Good luck.
Reply:I don't have the total scientific cure but, when I get sun on my back (or face) the acne dissappears. The sun has anti-bacterial properties and helps with acne. The modern dermatologist has problems encouraging people to take sun for problem acne because of the high rate of skin cancer. They used to recommend sun exposure to eradicate acne and psoriasis
Reply:no I have never heard that it I would think that it would make it worse, I have heard that the best is proactiv from friends of mine
Reply:i dont think its appropriate to do.. naaa.. i dont think tanning ur skin will help
Reply:Quick fix, yes, it works. However, don't forget about your personal hygiene when you get out of the tanning bed. Be sure and take a shower before or after you tan because as you probably know, sweating can cause breakouts. ...
