Do you sit in the sun for a tan or go to a tanning booth?

Neither, I prefer to embrace my paleness. Both are horrible for your skin anyway.

Do you sit in the sun for a tan or go to a tanning booth?
sit in the sun
Reply:used to fake bake, but know i have kids and no time, so i do the real thing
Reply:sit in the sun
Reply:neather i love being white+pasty
Reply:'Sun"
Reply:I was born with mine. No skin cancer for me!
Reply:I work outside with my shirt off and get one.
Reply:I do not tan.

I burn,

I peel,

I fade,

then I burn again.
Reply:Unintentionally tan when working in the yard or going to a kid's game....

I don't purposely sun anymore-- don't want melanoma.... or wrinkles for that matter....
Reply:neither really.....not on purpose anyway
Reply:Neither. I like being pale.
Reply:The sun..I like the natural glow look better.Plus, sitting in the sun is a lot more healthier for your skin...=]
Reply:neither. I've seen skin cancer, it is horrid.
Reply:The Old Fashioned Natural Way~Sitting In The Sun
Reply:neither.. i don't believe in being tan
Reply:Both.
Reply:I don't tan. I prefer to be fair-skinned.
Reply:I sit in the sun...its better
Reply:Niether. Both burn me to a crisp and it hurts.
Reply:I don't do either. The sun makes me ill and I won't pay for a tan.
Reply:They say the sun is bad....they say tanning booths are bad...the sun is natural...booths are not....hmmmmmm....

Personally...I prefer the Sun, but have used both...
Reply:I go natural and use the sun for my tanning booth! Tanning booths remind me of coffins and I don't need to rush that feeling. lol
Reply:Tanning booth. I don't like sitting in the son. It gets hotter and takes longer. I don't have the time. I tan in a bed. It's the best wat to go for me. I don't live near no beach or anything like it.
Reply:neither, UV radiation gives people skin cancer %26amp; makes them wrinkly
Reply:neither....I not only burn easily but its horrible for your skin. You might not think about it now but when you're in your 40's you'll see what it has done to your face! Use a sunscreen!! I've seen the damage and thank goodness I have kept out of the sun =)
Reply:tanning booth....I'm fair skinned and only burn in the sun...but for some reason I can get a pretty good tan in a tanning bed
Reply:i own a tanning bed
Reply:Sun.......Natural Tanning is my choice
Reply:Neither, I don't try to intentionally tan. I don't want a bunch of wrinkles and leathery skin or look old from too much sun.
Reply:I have gone to a tanning bed probably 2 times in my intire life i like tanning in the sun better i get better tans in the sun i was in the sun for one day and iam preerty white but after that day everybody could tell i was darker

How long for indoor tanning results?

depends on which bed. on my first time i was tan 15mins after i left, tanner than ever had been before. but thats because i was in a 12mins MAX bed. and the fact i used bronzer. i dont recomend bronzer if you if you tend to turn orange or have a yellowish hue to naturl skin color.

How long for indoor tanning results?
Depends on the bed you choose. I go for 15mins. To get the best results I would go 2-3 times a week and use a good tanning lotion.
Reply:4 to 6 hours and after you tan don't take a shower for 6 hours........it ruins the dirty mexican look.

What is the best tanning lotion?

Are you talking about instant self tanners/bronzers? Or are you talking about sunblocks that are low levels and help you achieve the tan without burning?

And it depends on how dark, how fast you are trying to get...

What is the best tanning lotion?
If you're talking about indoor tanning I use Ambrosia products which are less expensive than others (even though they're still not cheap) and they have maximizers and bronzers and accelerators, a wide variety. They don't smell too bad either.
Reply:are you talking about sun block or those lotions that give you the actual tan?

i'm not sure about the sun block but for the other kind definatly go with "Jergens Natural Glow" i used that when i went to prom instead of fake baking and it worked really well.
Reply:baby oil....it works the best

night jasmine

Has anyone used self tanning lotions or spray and which ones are the best? They used to turn you orange?

Loreal Sublime Bronze gelee........it is the only kind I use!!!! It goes on soooo easy, no streaks, a nice smell, and gives a good tan.....it also makes your skin feel soooo smooth....I tried the Jergans stuff( slow tan) but that stuff stinks, I was having to put it on a couple hours before i took a bath.

Has anyone used self tanning lotions or spray and which ones are the best? They used to turn you orange?
Juergens new one is good
Reply:my friend used some but the lotion body glow is the best
Reply:i use whipped chocolate self-tanning mousse made by

skin drench.

i bought it at sally's beauty supply shop.
Reply:My wife uses the Jergens and she really likes it.
Reply:well i would go with using a lotion because it sinks into your skin, and it gives you a nice glow, however dont use an exsessive amount other wise you will turn orange, and after using it REMEMBER to wash your hands right away, cuz although your skin might be looking great everyone will be able to tell your using self tanner by your orange hands ha...but i hope this helps you decide:)
Reply:i have recently used the vaseline lotion medium tone. and it works really good. it is not drastic and it looks natural.
Reply:the chemical they used to use that turned your skin orange is no longer used. I just read it in a magazine. :%26gt;)
Reply:Jergens lotion works good, however there is a really inexpensive brand that really does the job... its called NoAd.
Reply:Don't use neutragena rub in self-tanner. It turns you orange and streaky.

Imo the tinted lotions work wonders because they make you look tan subtly.
Reply:I just started using the Jergens Natural Glow and I think it smells good. Maybe I am just weird like that. :) Makes your skin sparkle too!

Reply:i always play in the water in the beach. it tans me up really fast, i don't know bout you but it works to perfect tan everytime :) i don't know how, i just have fun! oh and put tanning oil :)

or just sit and tan your life away.
Reply:You could use a sunless tanner...just make sure to get a good one that will spread evenly and won't turn you orange. Or you can go get it done by a professional if you like.
Reply:olive oil
Reply:We go to the beach AND we DO use 45+ sun screen....fun in the sand and water while we are tanning. We still get tan, sometimes we are even pink when we leave but it turns to tan without the sunburn pain for us. We even have a small pop-up tent we sit under when we aren't in the water. I don't recommend the "lobster lay out" even with the sun screen on. The reflections of the sun on the water and sand really step up the tan/burn process, so you should be careful or, yes, you will look like leather if you get too much. One year we were able to go 4 or more times that summer and we got really brown the safer way. You can still get tan doing the pool or backyard process (boring unless you add activities) if you don't have a beach near you, although you don't get as much of the reflective benefits from the water or sand, it still works quite well, but as I stated above, do it carefully, not over doing it, using sun screen, etc. so you don't get leather and/or skin cancer later. Make sure to lotion up everyday to help keep your tan longer because dry skin makes it fade faster.
Reply:victoria's secret bronzing tanner stuff. I tried it and it works. just make sure you spread it evenly.

God bless!
Reply:dont even think about a tanning booth. it makes you look like you stole a cheetah's unspotted skin.

Can you lose sensation in your nipples from tanning in a tanning bed?

i have been tanning about 4 times a month for a year and my nipples have not lost any sensitivity.

Can you lose sensation in your nipples from tanning in a tanning bed?
no

Has anyone heard of tanning to cure back acne?

can someone explain to me how this would work?

Has anyone heard of tanning to cure back acne?
Because the UV rays dry up your skin (reduce the oils) the appearance of some pimples will lessen or they will go away. I think with a tan most skin just looks a little healthier, and it has been from my experience that skin clears up a bit after going tanning.
Reply:I'm not sure if it'll do anything positive for acne, but tanning skin actually damages the skin
Reply:um........no. try acne medicine
Reply:i assume it has something to do with the harmful rays that tanning uses- think of this- if it can kill achne, whatz it doing to your skin!?
Reply:because the UV rays kill the bacteria that causes acne
Reply:Sun tends to dry out the skin, so, some sun might be beneficial, to help acne, on the back. You should check with a Dermatologist, sun can cause more harm sometimes, than good.
Reply:Ultraviolet rays can diminish but not cure achene. Time and luck will do that. Antibiotics will help control it. See your Dr.
Reply:Tanning you skin, dries it out....

Also take into consideration that acne isn't gonna be as visible on tan skin as compaired to white skin.
Reply:There are some rays of the sun, some in the the ultra-violet range, that will benefit your back and help to dry up acne, but there are safer ways today. See a dermotologist so you won't scar. I have a client who scarred something awful using just the sun. A dermotologist or esthetician can suggest lamps, and creams and back facials(they really do work well) for you that will provide great results. Good luck.
Reply:I don't have the total scientific cure but, when I get sun on my back (or face) the acne dissappears. The sun has anti-bacterial properties and helps with acne. The modern dermatologist has problems encouraging people to take sun for problem acne because of the high rate of skin cancer. They used to recommend sun exposure to eradicate acne and psoriasis
Reply:no I have never heard that it I would think that it would make it worse, I have heard that the best is proactiv from friends of mine
Reply:i dont think its appropriate to do.. naaa.. i dont think tanning ur skin will help
Reply:Quick fix, yes, it works. However, don't forget about your personal hygiene when you get out of the tanning bed. Be sure and take a shower before or after you tan because as you probably know, sweating can cause breakouts. ...

I went to the tanning bed two times, every other day, the third time I went(all for 12 mins) ...?

I got a red bumpy rash all over my chest...and thats it, its itchy and right between my boobs and thats it? any ideas why i got it there and no where else and um what it is?

I went to the tanning bed two times, every other day, the third time I went(all for 12 mins) ...?
you may have sensitve skin. Did you lay on your tummy. You can get a rash from it not being cleaned well. Watch it for a few days and see if it gets worse. Always wipe it down before you lay in it. You can get rashes and things from them not being cleaned. If it is your first time going to the tanning bed you may want to space your days out a little futher.
Reply:Probably a small dose of sun poisoning. Or that's what happened to me and now any time i'm in the sun I have to put at least a small SPF on that area to keep it from flaring up. Try not to scratch it as hard as that is, I know but it will just make it worse, I promise!
Reply:Might just be from being a tanner. Your skin might be reacting to the exposure in an odd way. But, make sure the beds are clean...unless you layed on your stomach and are having a reaction to the cleaners, I'd say that it's just from being exposed to the rays. It'll probably go away. I wouldn't tan until it does.

Breast Feeding and Self Tanning. Is that ok?

Make sure that you don't put anything on the breast area. =)

Then it would be ok.

Breast Feeding and Self Tanning. Is that ok?
Its best to avoid putting it over the breast and chest area while breast feeding, but other areas of your body are fine.

Information on opening a tanning salon?

I have done a couple of months of research on opening a tanning salon. From many people I had spoken to, it is not profitable.

Your question seems very vague. In what aspects are you curious about? You need to research on the net and get a list of vendors. They will then send you their free catalogs.

Look at spaces to rent. Apply for loans. Make a business plan.

Business plans are the most important whether you apply for the loan or not. Mine took me 3 months and was 36 pages for another business I opened. There is lots of research.

I do have another friend who opened a tanning salon in a small town and they are able to pay their overhead and that's it. Which is pretty good for the first year.

Dont expect to get rich off a salon. And certainly dont expect to profit for about 3 years depending on the amount of the loan.

Information on opening a tanning salon?
Careful, here. The best way is through franchising. You will be able to get advertising, it support, branding, etc with the help of the franchisor. But, know what you are getting into before getting to excited.
Reply:Business Plan Pro software program has a sample business plan for a tanning salon. You can see all the sample plans at bplans.com.
Reply:If you need a resource that provides all the requirements, documents, planning, etc to open a tanning salon go to www.buildabusinessworkshop.com
Reply:Exactly what are you looking for? If you'd like general information, you can go and talk to the major distributors of tanning supplies and they're usually very happy to help you out by providing you with information as well as give you an idea of what its going to costs. I agree with the previous posters, you definitely need a business plan. Once you get it going and you're ready to start you're going to have to come up with a financial plan as well. Do Germans really avoid tanning for health reasons?

I think my German teacher may be full of crap. He says Germans hardly ever get drunk. CRAP!

Do Germans really avoid tanning for health reasons?
texasdolly your answer was plain stupid!!!! we dont go get drunk on our lunchbreaks and for what u said about air traffic controllers you deserve a smack upside ur head!!!

germans love their beer and drink it to every occasion or have 1-2 after they get home from work, that doesnt mean they get drunk though! and if they do, the guy above is right they dont get as violent as some americans do..(you see that every weekend when the american soldiers dont know how to act right after a few german beer) but thats not the question...everybody knows that extreme visits to the tanning bed is bad for your health and can cause cancer! but germans go tanning also so no your teacher is wrong!!!
Reply:Beer to German's is well like water to us! I hear!

I avoid the sun, I am Casper's friendly ghost ... that's how white I am! I become Sebastian the lobster and then go back to white.... NO TAN! IT SUCKS!
Reply:I don't know about the tanning beds, but German's will mix Coke in their beer... it comes in Really big glasses and to drink the entire thing, they would get drunk. They can also drink on lunch breaks at work, even Air Traffic Controllers! Think about that the next time you fly to Germany!
Reply:Anyone with any rudimentary form of intelligence avoids tanning for health reasons. Enjoy those svelte tan young ladies now; they'll all look like saddle bags in 10 years. I've watched the transition myself. Modern mummification.
Reply:I went to visit a German school for a day and the teacher was absent for one subject. The students walked to the bar, had a few beers, then walked back to their next classes. I had to go along, of course, to get the full cultural experience.

If you start indoor tanning at age 17 very frequently, at what age will you start to notice aging in your face

I mean lines..wrinkles etc... maybe as early as 20..or prob around 30?? Thanks...I need it for a project!!!!

If you start indoor tanning at age 17 very frequently, at what age will you start to notice aging in your face
I have been indoor tanning for about 10 years now. I am 47 but no one ever guesses my age to be over 35. I could just be blessed with good genes but I have found this is a lot less damaging to my skin than the natural sun in South Florida (which is particularly brutal). For most people I would not recommend it because it does damage the skin just as badly as the real sun. It all depends on how good you take care of your skin before and after tanning and what products you use in the tanning salon.

You may show signs as early as right away to your twenties. It does not take long to damage your skin. it is exposure, just like any kind of exposure to the elements it will show up more the more you do it. So, it would depend on the frequency also.

Again, I would not recommend it to anyone. It is just a personal choice I have made.
Reply:around 20. The wavelenght of light used in tanning beds is very destructive of youthfulness. Dont use them
Reply:around 19-20
Reply:You'll notice fine wrinkles on your face. Around 20 years - certainly by 25.
Reply:if you do it in moderation you won't show it until you are well into your 40s or even 50s....my skin looks very young because i started using sun screen at 25. but as a teenager I was always tan..
Reply:The truth is as soon as your walk out of the tanning booth, the tan itself is the direct damage to exposure.
Reply:i`ve been tanning indoors for more than 15 years now, year-round...but, i`ve been very diligent with my skin-care regimen, %26amp; many people comment that i look 15 years younger than my actual age!!! i`m not saying that i don`t have any wrinkles, because i have very fine laugh lines, but i think these are natural as u age anyways, %26amp; just shows that i`ve enjoyed my life!!! so, i think if u take care of your skin while tanning, it goes a long way to preserve a youthful look!!!
Reply:Mid 20's.
Reply:It depends on several factors, such as your fitzpatrick scale how long you stay in the bed. The strength of the bed etc. It is actually healthy to get in the tanning bed for about 5-7 mins 1-2/wk.

I wear 75 spf suncreen and i still tan. everyon thinks im not white because im so dark. can i stop tanning?

i ride my bike everyday for about 20-30 miles. it takes 1.5-2 hours to ride. i try not to go out when it's really brite. i wear a 75 spf sunscreen and i still get darker. from my knees to my neck i am white, excluding my arms from my elbow down. i just want to be white all the way around. but i cant stop going outside. especially since i have football. what do i do

Reply:if you're riding for that long and sweating, you'll need to re-apply the sunscreen, other than that and wearing long sleeves, i don't know what you could do. good luck
Reply:No, you can't stop yourself from tanning. Why would you want to though? Tan people look much healthier!
Reply:why would u want to stop tanning??? everyone wants to be tan! there isn't a way to stop tanning if you don't stop going outside other than wearing long sleeves and pants. so like Olay says, "love the skin you're in!"
Reply:I don't know if this is still a rule. Maybe sunscreens have been reformulated. Technically, sunscreens are supposed to be reapplied hourly. I don't know, maybe this only counts if you'll be going swimming. Or you should be using a sport sunscreen, which doesn't come off when you sweat, supposedly.

Also, depending on which you are prone to, most people will tan or freckle through sunscreen.

I don't know if this is true. If it's skin cancer you're worried about, I've heard that it's more often sunburns that cause cancer than tanning, but some people can only tan if they burn themselves. (don't take this for golden, please.)
Reply:You can't stop tanning, but I don't get why your complaining! I'd love to be more tanned...!
Reply:stay out of the sun
Reply:try to not bike from 11-3, since that's when the sun's at the highest point, and you'll tan easier then. you could wear a hat, maybe? or use a higher spf sunscreen. hope that helps.
Reply:avoid the sun between 10am-3pm as much as possible.. if you can enjoy the outdoors before and after this period, then you can help lessen the tanning you're getting.. if you cant avoid it, then re-apply sunscreen after an hour because the sun's rays are really bad and penetrating..

yes, you can lighten your skin shade for an even skin tone.. here's the way to go -

I have mild acne. I want to get darker, but will tanning beds make it worse?

I notice that it gets worse on my back when I tan in them, but I think that's because I sweat so much and my back stays against the glass. This sounds crazy, but it would it be totally weird if I took a towel in with me and laid on it then flipped on my stomach half-way through to avoid all of that sweating against the bed?

I have mild acne. I want to get darker, but will tanning beds make it worse?
just use stand up booths til the acne goes away (use special body washes if ur already not)

or arch that back when ur bakin girll!!!!!!!!!
Reply:You should not be tanning as it greatly increases your risk of skin cancer and skin cancer doesn't care if you are 14 or 104.
Reply:Your acne will probably get worse if you start sweating while you're in the tanning bed. But, why not go get one of the spray on tans? It's much safer! Our bodies can't repair the damage that UV light does (we're not bacteria...although it is cool that they can repair UV light damage).
Reply:Yes, a tanning bed will most likely make your acne grow worse. So it's best to avoid tanning beds until your acne condition goes away.

I want to start tanning cause im so pale i just want to try it out but still kind of scared. should i do it?

No you shouldn't do it. Tanning causes skin cancer and it's the main cause of wrinkles and aging. I am very fair and I would never tan. I much prefer my fair unwrinkled skin to tanned skin that looks like leather. 2D

I want to start tanning cause im so pale i just want to try it out but still kind of scared. should i do it?
Go for it. Get a spray tan it looks better I think.
Reply:yes its not scary at all if your scared why dont you try out 1 of the stand up booths
Reply:That's really just a judgment call for you.

Personally, I don't do it. I don't think the positives outweigh the negatives on that one. Tanning in a salon is worse than laying out in the sun.

But really, everyone will have their opinions. This is something that everyone has to decide for themselves.

Reply:if you have really healthy, clear pale skin then don't do it! It's so beautiful! you will appreciate it so much when you're older and all those people who tanned are ugly (jk). There are really good fake tan lotions out there though if you still want a little color. spray on tans also look very good.
Reply:You should get a spray tan or lotion. Sun tans and booths can give you premature wrinkles and even skin cancer. Just make sure you spread your tanning spray or lotion in evenly and don't make any streaks. You should get a good product to also prevent from getting streaks or turning orange. I would try finding one that doesn't test on animals. I used to use fake tanning products myself, but then I stopped and realized that I didn't need a tan to be beautiful. Well, good luck:)

Anyone use the Loreal Tanning Towelettes?

Anyone ever use these?? Good results?

Anyone use the Loreal Tanning Towelettes?
They are amazing. They are pretty much fool proof, they don't turn you orange, and they don't leave streaks!

Does applying sunblock prevent tanning?

- If so.. then can you suggest any good sunblocks for the face?

Does applying sunblock prevent tanning?
If the SPF is high enough and you apply it frequently it will prevent tanning. I have bought dozens of sunblock (my mother has skin cancer) and I really really love Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock. It has a SPF of 55 and it has helioplex in it, which means it lasts long than all other sunblocks. Smells great and it isn't greasy at all.
Reply:The higher the SPF the better. Make sure you get one that is sweat proof! It prevents you from tanning alot which could lean towards a burn.
Reply:Just try an spf of like 20-25 for awhile to allow some sun, then switch to a 30-40 to prevent burn.
Reply:OK..it would depend on what kinda sun block you use.
Reply:if done correctly it will. SUN BLOCK
Reply:of corse yess garnier and lotus is d best
Reply:It prevents dark results but you still get sun if its under 70 spf.
Reply:sunblock will prevent tanning based on the SPF
Reply:The best coverage is Bull Frog but that is for the highest amount of coverage. THe lower the spf the more rays will get through.
Reply:nooo, that's silly. the ozone layer is way too depleted for you to not get any sun. use the higheset SPF possible, especially on your face. it must be sweat/waterproof to be really effective. they make sunblock specifically for your face that's not as oily.
Reply:spf 50

i used it and nothing happened no sun burn no tan
Reply:Yes, but mostly the high SPF sunblocks or sunscreens. I am very light complected and I prefferr a 45-50 SPF sunblock for Babies. Works great.
Reply:no
Reply:get a specific face sunblock, Clinique has one, but there are cheaper versions out there, The oils in some for use on the body clogs pores and may cause you to break out or if you have sensitive skin, cause an allergic reaction...and it is worth avoiding if you don't know, cause breaking out all over your face is never fun!
Reply:In my knowledge Hawain Tropic sun tan lotions are the best.
Reply:no, sunblock does not prevent from tanning, just chose the ones with the higher SPF especially for your face. Then there are special sunblocks for the face. My guess, they'll be better for face application
Reply:I use this every day, especially if I know I'm going outdoors - Olay Complete Defense/Sensitive Skin. It has good protection against skin damage – SPF 30 provides UV protection against 97% of the sun’s harmful rays to help prevent sun damage, so skin stays healthy and younger looking. Also it moisturizes – has a non-greasy formula with Vitamin E, Aloe, and Green Tea Extract. I find that it replenishes moisture and absorbs quickly into my skin.

Ever been to a tanning salon?

?

Ever been to a tanning salon?
Absolutely.

I love the Electric Beach!

I get a nice tan and I feel better,too.
Reply:worked at one
Reply:yes, i have. waste of time %26amp; money.
Reply:Yes.
Reply:Yes - and you want to know what?
Reply:Yes. I find the mystic tan safer than the UV tanning. I picked up a virus on my eye lid from the goggles. (buy your own if you go this way)
Reply:Yep. I used to go to a tanning salon, but I let my membership lapse. Any kind of tanning regimen can age the skin. Skin cancer risks aside, I decided it wasn't worth the premature aging.
Reply:yes, and if you are thinking of starting to tan don't. It only gives you temporary results and damages your skin. Just remember that an hour in a tanning bed is like spending 8 hours in the sun without sunscreen or shade. Also it costs a fortune just to look darker. It is really just not worth it.
Reply:many times!
Reply:Yes, I've been to several tanning salons. I'm not tanning now because I know how bad it is for my skin but for many, like 8 years, I tanned in a stand up bed year round.

Why do you ask?
Reply:Yep. Expensive %26amp; not good for your skin. They have some awesome tanning lotions that are not streaky or orangey looking-they have come along ways.Go for those! You will thank me when you are 40!
Reply:yes
Reply:Yes I have many, many, many, many times! Love the tan I get!
Reply:Sure!!! Lots of times! Tanning is great, but if you are just starting...be carefull depending on your skin tone. If you are very light complected you want to start by only staying in the bed a no more than 5 minutes the first few times, and slowly working your way up to longer times. If you dont you will burn really bad, especially on your back, and on your **** (if you wear a thong) because these parts will have direct contact on the bed, plus make sure you spray the bed down with the sanitizing spray, even if you think the worker already has. I always did...Just incase!!! You dont want to get weird germs...if in doubt...go to a salon that has the stand up beds, They may be a bit more expensive, but more satitary I would think.

Also, dont use a bronze tanning lotion(at first, wait until your skin has a bit of tone) I made this mistake (once) and my skin was a bit streaky, not too bad, but it was almost like I used a sunless tanning lotion, I think the bronze lotion has the same formula.

You'll want to turn on the fan at the end of your bed...it DOES get a bit warm in there.

HAVE FUN!!!!
Reply:Fake bakes are ICKY!!! not a good idea!

I wear 75 spf suncreen and i still tan. everyon thinks im not white because im so dark. can i stop tanning?
iF Y0U WHiTE Y0UR PR0BLABY GET SUNBURN iF Y0U D0NT USE SUNSCREEN BUT D0NT USE SUCH A HiGH NUMBER...BCUZ SUNSCREEN iS WHAT GiVES Y0U COLOR...

WELL HOPE THAT HELPS

G00D LUCK =]

What is the fastest way to get a tan, without sunless tanning products? what other good products are thereoil?

The sun.

What is the fastest way to get a tan, without sunless tanning products? what other good products are thereoil?
A good way to get tan fast is using the mystic tan machine at your local tanning salon. it's a fast easy way to get tan. it does have DHA in it which is in normal sunless tanning products you can buy at the store, however it also has aloe vera. It sprays you up and down and you turn around while in it so you get an even tan that shows up in minutes. it lasts for 5 days as well. unless you use the hypertan which extends your tan to 7 days and also gets rid of the funky smell the machine can give off.
Reply:Go to a tanning salon. Ask the person working there what tanning product will work best to acheive whatever it is that you're going for, chances are you can buy it there. Tanning beds are probably the fastest way to get tan without actually laying in the sun.
Reply:get a airbrush tan, looks real and its quick
Reply:going in the sun or tanning salon, or fake tan ... fake tan is best and cheapest, coz it's safest for you.... too much sun = skin cancer (dont assume "it wont happen to me")!! so be careful,..

Can i use a tanning bed with a new tattoo?

I just got a tattoo and i was told to keep it out of the sun but i wasnt sure if synthetic had the same affect

Can i use a tanning bed with a new tattoo?
The tanning bed works the same as the sun. It will fade your tattoo.
Reply:DON"T do it
Reply:Unfortunately you have to avoid the tanning bed as well until your tattoo heals. Even when the tattoo heals though, the UV rays from the tanning bed will make the ink fade, causing your tattoo to look duller. To protect your tattoo, always lather it with sunsceen before tanning.
Reply:Same exact effect. No tanning bed. I wouldn't even rub sunless tanning lotion on it. That's one thing you really don't wanna screw up. Something you're gonna have to look at forever.
Reply:stay out of the bed for a few weeks at least. if you dont believe me, call your artist.
Reply:Either way natural or artificial, the sun will cause your tattoo to fade.

Hope this helps.
Reply:Yes honey, tanning beds are just as bad for your tattoo as the sun.
Reply:NONONONONONO DON"T DO IT!! even after your tat has healed, you still need to use a sunscreen to protect your color
Reply:This is what I do and have been doing since I got my tat...I use bath and body works spf 45 lip balm and just outline my tattoo with it and tan away....
Reply:sigh. DO NOT use a tanning booth for at least 30 days. stay out of water also.

The sun is really the only enemy of a tattoo, you must use sun blocker every time.
Reply:that's the point of a tanning bed. it's synthetic sunlight. I think you can figure this one out on your own now.

Where can i buy tanning stickers for cheap?

The ones that you tan around so you have a little heart/star/etc. that is still white? The only place I've ever seen them is @ the tanning salon. Ask at the front desk, they will more than likely have them for very cheap.

I am painting my tanning salon what colors go with an ocean blue?

I am opening a salon with a very large lobby, we have many walls to paint and I started with an ocean blue but I don't want it to be to much blue what other colors whould look good on some of the other walls? The doors are white.

I am painting my tanning salon what colors go with an ocean blue?
well u dont want a orange tint seeing that thats the color ur peeps will be when they r done. so i'd go for white and aqua blue. go for a cottage by the beach feel. my rooms like this. hint lots of beachy accesories in party city and target
Reply:I think a nice sunny orange would look great...plus it goes with the "tanning" motife.
Reply:beach sand tan

coral reef crimson

diamond sea pearl
Reply:various shades of terra cotta

shades of sea foam green

more white
Reply:Browns and sands look very nice with blue, and on the colour wheel, orange is the opposite complementary colour.
Reply:beach colors like terra cotta different shades of blue green and yellow some deep oranges beautiful
Reply:Vote for beige, it would be very soothing. Sand colored.

A darker brown might be pretty, a cool one like mocha or taupe, or a warm one like chocolate. Depends on the blue.

A warm creamy yellow would be sunny.

You could paint around the salon from floor to chair rail in blue, and then paint a barely blue shade of white above, and the blue from the bottom, in pinstripes over the white. Chair rail could be actual wood molding, or it could be wallpaper border, or a stencilled paint treatment to hide the line. This would be crisp and clean, kind of country modern.
Reply:think bermuda or other dutch caribbean islands...blue as the main color with white doors, trim, etc. but then throw in some hot pink, orange, and yellow, in a tasteful way of course.
Reply:Try golds, earth tones and sea greens, even a soft yellow works. You can also go to your local hardware store and ask for their paint department and they have switches you can coordinate your colors with.
Reply:Hey There!

I was just browsing around on Yahoo Answers and came across this question of yours.

Anything Coral would be very pretty, and sand colors!

Can *indirect* sunlight cause tanning?

My office window is right next to me (on the right) all day long, and even though the sunlight is not shining directly on my skin, it is definitely in here, and brightening the room. Lately I feel like I'm getting freckles on the right side of my face--could it be from the indirect sunlight?

Can *indirect* sunlight cause tanning?
Definitely. It is recommended that you wear spf sunscreen if you sit by a window.
Reply:yes
Reply:Yes it can be. Even if it is completely overcast you can still get burned by the sun.
Reply:Most definitely

I go to the tanning bed and i am kinda dark but I can't get darker. What can I do?

I already use a double bronzer tingle lotion. And I lay in the level 2 beds and i lay the full time and i can't get darker.

I go to the tanning bed and i am kinda dark but I can't get darker. What can I do?
Maybe its as dark as you can get. I'm mean how dark are you. You could put yourself at risk of skin cancer.
Reply:Stay as you are. Too much artificial tan is not beautiful for natural fair-skinned people, and it causes skin cancer too. So please stop worrying about beeing more tan!
Reply:How are dark are you looking to get? For me (when i used tanning beds) I found that they would help me maintain a certain color but the natural sun was the only way to go darker once id reached the threshold.
Reply:You're probably dark (or orange) enough.

Some people tend to not see their tan as others do. Darker to them, means orange-er to others.

I don't know how people get orange in tanning beds while not even using fake tanner. But, it's a sight to watch.

In middle school, we pale people called them "oompa loompas."
Reply:um. maybe you should stop fake baking. its gonna freakin kill you. skin cancer, anyone?!
Reply:If you want best results, tanning in the real sun will certainly darken you up. Tanning beds only get you to a certain stage of colour, so don't do it over and over again succesivelly if you're trying to get a dark look.

Kristine
Reply:Stop! You are killing your skin! Be happy as you are. Better to have light skin than melanoma!
Reply:Are you using lotion with a bronzer? With tingle? If no, try that. Works great. Otherwise, it is too bad, but everyone has a limit. You can only get so dark. As for those telling you to stop tanning, please, we could all get blown up tomorrow. Look good until then!
Reply:I just heard on the news today

there is a 75% greater chance of getting melanoma

What product other than tanning that darken your skin?

olays new glowing lotion should answer your problem

What product other than tanning that darken your skin?
oil of olay lotion you can get it in different shades. use it daily to see the difference.
Reply:Airbrushed tans are the hottest thing now! They work well and you do not appear orange, afterwards..cost about $25 and last almost a month...safest way to go and the best wat to look great for a special occassion...also, NO SUN DAMAGE!!
Reply:jergen's natural glow, they have different shades for you to choose from(light, medium, dark) depending on your natural skin tone. I use this lotion like crazy, it only cost about 5 bucks and it doesn't leave that orange tint that most other self tanners do, this lotion adds tint to your skin gradually, so it seems to others as if you are getting a gradual tan!!! they even have some specifically for your face if you have sensitive skin!! good luck

looks really dark after you've used it a few days in a row.. amazing :)
Reply:beta carotene pills

Has anyone ever tried tanning pills?

do they actually work? and, how do they work?

Has anyone ever tried tanning pills?
They basically just use the carotenoids (what makes shrimp and carrots orange) to give you a tan appearance by coloring your tissue.

Not very appealing....at least to me.

Sunless tanner is better.
Reply:They have tanning pills now? Well you learn something new everyday...
Reply:From what I've heard these can be dangerous. Try the spray tanning. It is approved and safe..

Why Tanning Pills Don't Work

Three years ago, the feature Sunless Tanning: Facts and Myths attacked the effectiveness of tanning pills.

But tanning pills have proven to be the hardest sunless tanning myth to kill. Nutritional supplements, or tanning pills, that "promote" tanning proliferate, and ads for them are everywhere.

Why? The Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act passed by the United States Congress in 1994 allows the marketing of products as a "dietary supplement" without the approval of any government agency, as long as the labeling includes a disclaimer saying that it has not been evaluated by the FDA and the product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. If a question about safety arises, the burden of proof is on the FDA, not the manufacturer.

There are only two things that matter in the production of melanin: your genetics and your degree of exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Nutrition simply does not play a part for the normal, well nourished individual [if you are an American, you are more likely to be over nourished].

Do you wear a swim suit while you tan in a tanning bed or do you go naked?

That is completely up to you and depends on what areas you wish to tan and whether or not you mind tan lines. I go in my birthday suit because I can't stand tan lines. The staff should clean the sun bed with a hospital grade disinfectant before you use it. I suggest that you apply extra sunscreen the first few times until your usually unexposed areas get used to it or you are likely to burn.

Do you wear a swim suit while you tan in a tanning bed or do you go naked?
i go **** naked aww an all over tan
Reply:i think u go in with underwear
Reply:Bikini off course! Lol
Reply:I'm not even going to answer that because going to a tanning bed is a horrible idea unless you want to get skin cancer. Take the money you were going to use on a tanning bed and go get a professional spray tan.
Reply:All the places I've ever heard of you go in naked so you get and all over tan, with no tan lines
Reply:If you don't want tan lines, you go "nekked". Otherwise, it's up to you.

Reply:It is a personal choice but I go naked!

Reply:If you don't want to expose yourself to UV lights, I suggest you go to a tanning salon and inquire about Air Brush Tanning, where you are literally sprayed with an instant tan that lasts about 5-7 days. If you don't want to spend the money to do this (about $40 depending on your residence), buy Sally Hanson's Spray Tan. It is sold at most Wal-Marts and the results are similar.

Medical view on body tanning?

I work for a Dermatologist and she always tries to discourage her patients from tanning of any kind. By tanning, you expose yourself to the risk of getting skin cancer and to premature aging. Although most skin cancers are caused by how much sun exposure you had as a child, as a general rule, tanning is just bad for your skin.

Medical view on body tanning?
it's very bad for you and you should tan as little as possible...
Reply:It's bad for you. Basically tanning darkens your skin by burning it. On the outside, it might look nicer, but microscopically, you can see the burn marks. This increases your chances of getting cancer and wrinkles. Use an artificial tanning lotion, if you want to get a tan.
Reply:Ages your skin, and can lead to age spots when your older, and can also give you that leathery look. Skin cancer is becoming more common now. Now days fake tans are all the rage, and they don't give you that orange look if you choose the right one. Another plus is that fake tans won't damage your skin.
